Players Code of Conduct

New Britain Youth Soccer League - Updated June 2, 2006

As a player, I recognize that my coach and my team mates are there to support me and I am there to support them. I understand that soccer helps to develop a sense of teamwork, self-worth and sportsmanship. As such, I agree to abide by the following:

1. I will give my best at all times and be proud of myself regardless of the score.
2. I will abide by and follow the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Rules and Regulations in as in effect.
3. I will make every effort to attend all practices and games scheduled for my team.
4. I will be responsible for notifying my coach of any necessary absence within a reasonable time prior to the scheduled practice or game.
5. I will support and help my fellow players to improve their performance as soccer players, both at practice sessions and in competitive situations, understanding that through such efforts the league and I will both improve and benefit.
6. I will conduct myself with sportsmanship, manners, and respect at all times.
7. I will make a personal commitment to my development as a soccer player in both time and effort.
8. I will give full and serious consideration to the advice of coaches with respect to my development as a soccer player.
9. I will not openly question the calls or honesty of officials.
10. I will not use or have in my possession any alcholic beverages, illegal drugs, or tobaco products.
11. I will not engage in any destructive, immoral, or disruptive behavior. I shall conduct myself in a moral manner.
12. I will use appropriate and respectful language at all times.
13. In soccer, as in life, I will treat others as I would have them treat me.
